Week Five Hello Olympic Challenge Judges, Welcome to week 5 of the Olympic Judges Challenge!!! My original plan was to use routines from the Olympic Games this week. However, NBC is blocking all YouTube routines from the Olympics.
So for our final week we will evaluate some of the 2012 Olympic Games event finalist’s routines from their better competitions during 2012.
Thank you for all your responses to last week’s bonus video. It obviously caused considerable discussion throughout the US. I am happy to report the overwhelming response was no credit.
I hope you enjoy your last week of routines!!!

Week Four Week Four Results
Week Four Routine Analysis
Hello Olympic Challenge Judges,
Welcome to week 4 of the Olympic Judges Challenge!!! This week we will evaluate Fabian Hambuechen’s routines from Germany’s 2012 Olympic Trials. These routines are very interesting… as it will be a good comparison for his AA final competition in London later this week. If you are not aware, Fabian finished 3rd in the AA in the qualification round held on Monday! It will be fascinating to see how we evaluate similar routines done at his trials. When you click on the single link below, you will connect to YouTube and see all 6 routines. The entire video is 8 minutes long and contains all 6 routines.
In addition, I have included a bonus video for everyone to evaluate. Simply determine if the skill you are evaluating should get credit. A simple “yes” or “no” is what I am looking for along with your scores from Fabian’s events. There are no points for the bonus video as I will just tally the results.
Have fun!!!

Team Rosters Week One Week One Results Week One Routine Analysis
Hello Olympic Challenge Judges,
Welcome to week 1 of the Olympic Judges Challenge!!! This week we will evaluate routines from the 2011 Moscow World Stars Competition on almost every event. When you click on the links below, you will connect to YouTube and see the routine. I selected common international routines that are most likely what you would see when at a World Cup A competition. Please keep in mind the following information:
- These routines were selected from YouTube and you can review them as many times as necessary. Sometimes the camera moves, jiggles or has a glitch, so just deal with it the best you can!
- I am not trying to trick anyone, these are real routines
- Remember to use FIG rules and interpretations
- After you judge the routine, determine your Start Value including Bonus, and your total Execution deductions for each routine
- I will provide you with a score sheet later in the week to record your scores
- All scores are due by 12 midnight on Monday.
- Each Tuesday, the final scores for every team and the routine evaluations by the judging panel will be posted on the NGJA website. You can then compare your scores
Have fun!!!
